Congratulations to Eugenia and to all of the 5th Grade!

We would like to take a moment to recognize Eugenia for her hard work in promoting World Education Games and Mathletics, and share the news article she appeared in this Sunday.  If I had my way, our ENTIRE class would also appear in the newspaper, for all of your hard work on that amazing assembly we put together, and all of your support.  Way to go 5th Grade!

Unicef Fundraising Saturday!

Saturday was a huge success.  The numbers are not available yes, but there was a tremendous amount of money raised for the School-in-a-Box program.  Grade 5 operated an obstical course and below are the top times.  Our flea market was also fantastic, thank you for contributing so much stuff you didn't want.

Cross country running: Area, perimeter and lengths of the sides of a rectangle.

The cross country running team is practicing on a 250m route.  The route is around the soccer field, and we know that the perimeter is exactly 250m because it was measured on this satellite picture.  We know that the route measured was a rectangle with square angles.

The distance down the rainbow track is 65m.

How long is each side of the rectangle?

What is the area of the soccer field inside the route?
