We want your comments on the writing process.

When I was looking over your ePortfolios (sites.google.com) and I noticed that many of you are missing a response about proofreading and revising.

Here is a link to the scans of your writing process pieces.

1. Find a piece your edited or revised and post it in the English section of your ePortfolio, and comment on how you edited or revised the work.  How did you proofread it, what did you fix? (Did you make it more clear?  Add more adjectives? Fix spelling and punctuation?)

2. Find your drafting (the piece you wrote), post it to the English section of your ePortfolio and comment on how you drafted it and what you think of the edits that were made from your friends.

The truth.

This is the most important problem in the world.  The way we change the way we live is the single most important thing we will do with our lives.

The planet has problems,
they are bad
and getting worse.
They are because of human activity.

This will affect us all.  This is our story together.  What are your feelings about this?  What will you do about this problem?  What can we do to be leaders in saving our planet?

This is one of the best videos around about our problem.  I suggest we all watch it and share it with our families.

Why are you learning English?

Here is a video that really makes you think about why students around the world are learning English.  You can hear a lot of different accents, but the reasons for learning are the most important part.  I will show this video in class today to help us come up with some English goals.

What will you do to learn English better?

Tainan Photos

Flashmobs and taking action

Today when talking to teacher Denise, she mentioned flashmobs, which people participate in to help spread awareness about taking care of our planet.  Take a look at this video, and watch these people taking action.  The video's captions are in French, but the message is loud and clear.

What do you think about this way of helping the planet?
Is there something we could do here in Taiwan to promote our environment?

Off to Tainan!

Tomorrow is going to be awesome, we are all very excited about the trip to Tainan.

It is not just a trip that has us excited.  We are going to begin our Cultural Identity unit with a big look at our OWN cultural identity.

Our first stop is the National History Museum in Tainan where we will learn about the story of Taiwan.
Our next destination is Anping Old fort, for a look at a real piece of Taiwan's history.

So what I want to know is: What do you already know about Taiwan's culture and history?  What do you expect to learn about this unit?  What will we see tomorrow? What is a "culture"?

Answer my questions in your comment, or comment on other people's answers.  Just be sure to include your name with your comment!

Today we perform!

Well today is the big day!  We are presenting our mime, puppet show, talk show and role play skits for the PYP.  Your plays are creative, funny and your very own creation.  All the plays also teach a great lesson.

I know that you have all made fantastic progress and look forward to the big presentation.  Good luck!  What I want to know is what you are thinking now?  Are you ready?  How are you feeling?
